Marjolein Robertson to Co-Host New Comedy Series Humanwatch for BBC Radio 4

Off The Kerb’s Marjolein Robertson has landed a brand-new BBC Radio 4 series, which launches on Wednesday 15th October 2025. Co-written and co-hosted by Marjolein alongside fellow stand-up Gareth Waugh, Humanwatch is produced by BBC Scotland and is a comedic spoof of BBC wildlife show Springwatch, exploring the fascinating lives of Humans instead of animals.

The four-part series was recorded in Glasgow earlier this year, and features appearances from comedians Phil Ellis, Alison Spittle, Katia Kvinge, Sam Lake, Kate Hammer and more. ‘I’m very excited,’ Marjolein tells British Comedy Guide. Humanwatch is ‘kind of surreal, as we tried to write things about human nature in a way that’s endearing and sweet but getting it slightly wrong.’

She continues: ‘We’re really enthusiastic about humans and all their misdemeanours. And we’ve got a great cast. It was a real challenge because Springwatch is all about the visuals [and we’re] making a comedy in an audio format. But the great thing about radio is you can go to any location, there’s a great freedom there because if you can get a sound effect for it, you can say that you’re in any corner of Britain.’

The series, which is Produced by Lauren Mackay and Exec-produced by David Flynn at BBC Scotland, will launch on Wednesday 15th October at 11:15 pm on BBC Radio 4, and will be available to listen to on BBC Sounds afterwards.
