Andy Robinson has performed over 4000 gigs all over the place, including Glee Clubs, Comedy Stores, Highlights and Jongleurs and other beaten tracks as well as a slew of ones off… like in an exhibition room in an art gallery for instance.
He has also worked as a warmup artist for loads of popular shows on television such as Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Shooting Stars, Later with Jools Holland, Jonathan Ross as well as dozens of others you may know… and some you definitely won’t. He is still relieved that What’s In Your Celebrity Fridge? never made it to series.

If more trumpets are to be blown Andy has also been the support act for Sean Lock, Rich Hall and Paddy McGuiness. He is also known as comedy legend Jo Brand’s regular support act and has worked with her for the past ten years… alternatively he once supported jazz legend John MacLaughlin, who later gave him a right ticking off.

He has also written and performed for Virgin Radio’s breakfast show and other various radio programmes… although he was sacked from some of them.

Andy also wrote and presented a music programme for ITV One called Earshot where he interviewed the likes of Amy Winehouse, Keane and Razorlight… as well as people with lesser profile but arguably better songs.

Andy regularly picks up awards for his weekly comedy night at Birmingham Glee Club Comedy Carousel, winning Best Midlands Club Night at the Chortle Awards in 2015, and has picked up several Midlands Comedy Awards for Best Compère and Act in 2014, and most recently Best Club Night in 2018 and 2019.

‘‘Andy Robinson is an absolute joy to work with… self-deprecating, generous, very funny and relaxed’

Jo Brand
