West Yorkshire-born Jessica is one of the UK’s most sought-after comedy talents. She created, wrote, produced and starred in four series of her hit comedy show Drifters, which was the highest rated sitcom on E4 and repeated on Channel 4 to much critical acclaim, described by The Guardian as ‘essential viewing’. Following the second series of the show, Knappett was nominated for an RTS Award for Best Comedy Writer and a Broadcast Award.

As an actress she has starred in a number of films, playing Lisa in The Inbetweeners Movie, appearing in Steve Coogan’s Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa and starring alongside David Schwimmer in TV movie Irreversible. Jess’ acting talents have also seen her land roles in hit series’ Ghosts, Hitmen, Meet the Richardsons and Dodger. 2022 will see the release of Romesh Ranganathan’s BBC sitcom Avoidance, with Jessica starring alongside Romesh as Claire.

Jessica’s natural comic sensibility has seen her become a regular fixture on a score of entertainment shows such as Taskmaster, 8 Out of 10 Cats and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg, Drunk History, Travel Man: 48 Hours In…, Hypothetical, Outsiders, Channel Hopping with Jon Richardson, Guessable, Judge Romesh and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled. In 2021 Jessica co-hosted the brand-new Channel 4 series Complaints Welcome alongside Tom Allen and Munya Chawawa, dissecting viewers’ complaints about the TV shows getting the nation talking.

There is no end to her talents: she can also do a faultless impression of an air horn.
