Shetland-born stand-up and storyteller Marjolein Robertson releases her first special with the breakthrough show Marj, available to stream on YouTube now.

A story of three strands, it intertwines stand-up routines and a magical Shetland folktale to reveal a story of domestic abuse. First performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023, with a sell-out run and receiving two award nominations, Marj was officially listed as one of the highest-reviewed comedy shows of the Edinburgh Fringe that year. Marjolein toured the show in the Spring of 2024, filming the special on location in the Glasgow Stand Comedy Club.

The live show fuelled a dialogue for those who have been in abusive relationships, and within the show it offers sign-posting for anyone who finds themselves in this difficult place. Marjolein hopes that by releasing this special for free on YouTube it will provide not just an hour of laughter, but help to anyone who is affected by this issue.
