Harry Hill Returns as Host of Junior Bake Off on Channel 4
Muster the mixing bowls, ready the rolling pins and prepare the proving drawers: Junior Bake Off is back for an 11th series of cakes, cookies and capers, with a fresh batch of 16 young bakers hoping to be crowned Britain’s best.
As ever, comedian Harry Hill brings his badges and bonhomie to the role of host, issuing a raft of ingenious new challenges in his inimitably chaotic style. And overseeing the judging once more? Nice to see ’em, it’s Rav and Liam… aka pastry chef and restaurant owner Ravneet Gill and Great British Bake Off favourite Liam Charles.
16 Junior Bakers, aged between nine and 15 and drawn from all over the UK, are split across two week long sets of heats, with eight bakers in each. Each themed weekday episode – Cake, Biscuit, Bread, Dessert and Pastry – consists of a tricky technical and spectacular showstopper challenge.
Then, it’s Finals Week. The remaining eight are whittled down during Mashup Day, Travel Day, Party Day, and Posh Nosh Day. The Grand Final’s theme is a glorious Summer Party, with the final fab four asked to make Rav’s signature strawberries and clotted cream Danish, before creating a fabulous three-tiered cake symbolising a summer day out.
The new series airs every afternoon at 5:00pm Monday through to Friday for the next three weeks on Channel 4. You can catch up on demand now.
